Megumi Eda

Megumi Eda is a celebrated dancer and filmmaker from Nagano, Japan. After training from a young age, she launched her professional career with the Matsuyama Ballet Company and became the first Japanese dancer to join the Hamburg Ballet. She went on to perform with the Dutch National Ballet and Rambert Dance Company, collaborating with renowned choreographers like William Forsythe and Jiří Kylián.

In 2004, she co-founded Armitage Gone! Dance in New York City and earned a Bessie Award for her groundbreaking performances. Since 2014, Megumi has expanded into filmmaking, collaborating with conceptual artist Yoshiko Chuma and creating thought-provoking multimedia works. Now based in Berlin, she continues to merge dance and film to address societal issues through innovative storytelling.
